Queen of the (far from) Damned

I reached a new milestone in my unemployment history today. My claim balance has reached zero, and I now qualify for Emergency Unemployment Compensation.

In other words, I totally kick ass at this!

Also, enjoyed a splendidly summery day in the park. Which one of you chumps with a job can say that, huh? HUH?!

I have good feelings about this summer. Maybe it will be like the jobless summers of my past. Like 6th grade summer! Only I can drive and get into bars and kiss boys and I don't have to go to basketball camp. So, maybe not that much like 6th grade summer. But you know what I mean. And I will be going to Dairy Queen a lot.

Now for a cool beverage or two with friends. T.G.I.Summertime!

Why, depsite approaching my 7th month of moderate-to-no employment, I have no inclination to leave Portland anytime soon:

Because The New York Times won't stop writing articles about how cool this place is!

And also:
...a dedication to the things that really matter: hearty food and drink, cultural pursuits both high and low, days in the outdoors and evenings out with friends. It’s the good life, and in Portland it still comes cheap.

Well hello dear reader! It's been awhile!

What have I been up to, you ask?

And while there are many perks to this perpetual state of moderate employment, (see clip) it's starting to get to the point where I either need to join a fight club, or get my creative ass into gear.

I chose the latter.
